In a surprise to everyone in Los Angeles and certainly everyone in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, pop superstar Justin Bieber announced today in an interview that he was looking to buy a house on Lake Minnetonka and would be moving there soon. “I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while. I love the idea of having a house on a lake and the scenery at Lake Minnetonka is just so beautiful,” Bieber told the magazine.
Located about 15 miles west of Minneapolis, Lake Minnetonka encompasses 15,000 acres and is popular among boaters, fishermen, and recreationists. Its residents have almost no connection to the Los Angeles music industry and lifestyle that Bieber seeks an escape from and that’s one of the things he loves about it. “I just want to move to a place that feels so different than what I’ve been used to for most of my life and I think this will be a great place to spend summers,” Bieber said.
Bieber passed through the area not long ago while on a trip that brought him to the Minneapolis/St Paul area and, according to his assistant, “Justin immediately fell in love with the relaxed lifestyle of the lake community and the lake’s tranquil beauty and was telling everyone that he was going to move there.” We’re not sure what the residents will think about all of the attention brought to their lake community but we’re sure they’ll provide him with a warm welcome.
